Royal Friesland has published its sustainability report for 2006. Johan Priem, a member of the Board of Management with responsibility for sustainability policy: “Sustainable operating is integral to Friesland Foods. We regard it as self-evident that we should create sustainable value for consumers, customers, shareholders, employees, business partners and the communities in which we operate around the world. This report describes the successes of sustainable business operations, as well as the areas where improvements could be made.”
In its sustainability report, Friesland Foods sets out how it processes natural raw material to manufacture healthy products in a responsible manner, with the production chain as the key element. The core themes are: Natural raw materials, Responsible processing and Healthy products.

Friesland Foods Professional builds a large cold store of 33,000m³ and creates 17 new full-time jobs in Lummen. April 27 2006Friesland Foods Professional invested more than 2.5 million euros in a new logistical unit in Lummen. In just 3 months, Friesland Foods Professional built a new cold store with space for 10,000 pallets and 500 different products. Friesland Foods Professional produces cream-based dairy products for the professional market. Each year Friesland Foods Professional ships more than 175,000 pallets of finished products to its customers. The new logistical unit shortens and speeds up the link between Friesland Foods Professional and the customer.
